Dale Baldauf, age 75, of Portland passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2026 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  He was born in Portland on January 16, 1951 the son of Ora and Pauline (Ritter) Baldauf.  He was married on January 14, 1984 to Debra Votaw who survives.  Dale owned and operated Baldauf Garage in Portland for many years.  He had also worked for Juillerat Trucking and Coca Cola Bottling.  He was a 1969 Portland High School graduate and member of Portland Bowling Association.  He was a longtime drag racer and collected Lionel Trains.

Surviving are his wife Debra, three sons Duffy Baldauf of Bluffton, Jerrod Baldauf (wife Autumn) of Greenfield and Jason Betz of Portland, one brother Richard Baldauf (wife Patty) of Portland, Five grandchildren Katelynn, Chanceler, Kylie, Brady and Orie.  He was preceded in death by a brother David and a sister Janet Schwartzkopf.

There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday March 21st at 2:00 PM in the Arch Bridge Church with Pastor Dan Vore presiding.  The family will receive guests from 12:00 - 2:00 prior to the services.  Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.  Memorials can be made to the Baldauf family.
