Clara P. Howard age 94, rural Portland resident passed away Friday morning in the home of her daughter. She was born in Adams County August 21, 1922 the daughter of Amos and Mary (Stauffer) Steiner. She was married June 1, 1946 to Guthrie Howard and he passed away on December 2, 2010. She was retired from Citizens Bank after twenty five years. She was a member of West Walnut Street Church of Christ and 1941 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are two daughters Phyllis DeSmet Howard (husband Willy) of Portland and Linda Kennedy (husband Tom) of Portland, one son William G. Howard Jr. of Jeffersontown, Ky.
Six grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren
There will be no services and Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
