Christopher Bennett age 66 of Dunkirk passed away Monday at his residence. He was born in Portland October 2, 1952 the son of Charles and Loretta (Barenbrugge) Bennett. He was married in 1972 to Gisele Diefenbaugh and she passed away July 22, 2017. He was retired as Environmental Safety Technician with Ball State University. He was a US Army veteran, member of Moose Lodge, American Legion, graduate of Dunkirk High School and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son Joshua Bennett of Dunkirk, a daughter Jessica Bennett of Dunkirk, two brothers Ed Bennett of Dunkirk and Jim Bennett (wife Sue) of Hartford City, one sister Elizabeth "Micky" Staton of Fairview and four grandchildren Justus Folkerth, Blake Bennett, Payton Folkerth and Brooke Bennett.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland are handling the arrangements
