Christopher Ballard, age 44, of Ridgeville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday October 7, 2026 in IU Health Indianapolis. He was born in Portland on December 6, 1982 the son of Phillip Pavey and Cynthia Ballard. Christopher had worked at Jay-Randolph, was a 2000. Jay County High School graduate and attended United Pentecostal Church in Winchester. He enjoyed cartoons, video games and helping his mother.

Surviving are his parents James and Cynthia Slagley of Ridgeville and step brother James Slagley of Terra Haute.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland are handling the arrangements. Memorials can be made to Baird-Freeman Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
