Cheryl L. (Strickler) Svec, age 74, passed away Monday August 3, 2020 at her residence in Fort Wayne after a long battle with cancer. Cheryl was born in Portland on June 14, 1946 the daughter of Robert and Betty (Fritzinger) Strickler. She was a 1964 Gray High School graduate and was a homemaker. She loved to study American Indians, wolves and horses. She enjoyed watching old black and white movies, gardening, hummingbirds, all kinds of music and her cats and dogs.

Surviving are her Fiance Neil Shanebeck of Fort Wayne, one son Mike Green (wife Tina) and one daughter Lisa Parkerson, Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday August 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Green Park Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Chuck Koenemann presiding. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM in the chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her parents Robert and Betty Strickler. Memorials can be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
