Carol J. Mettert age 76, of Portland passed away Sunday December 20, 2020 in I U Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Carol was born in Portland on March 24, 1944 the daughter of Walter and Louella (Glessner) Codling. She had worked at Indiana Glass for over 30 years before retiring. She attended Evangelical Methodist Church and was a member of Portland Moose Lodge.

Surviving are two sons Joe Mettert of Parker City, Indiana and Walter Mettert of Portland, one sister Wanda Besser of Geneva, Three grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held in the Center Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society or Jay County Humane Society.
