Bobby Joe Betz, age 67, of Bryant passed away Thursday October 19, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Portland on April 4, 1956 the son of Homer and Rosalyn (Brotherton) Betz.  He worked for JAT in Fort Wayne as a truck driver.  He was a member of the Moose, Tri State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, dirt track racing and demo derbys.

Surviving are one son Justin Betz of Bryant, two daughters Bobbie Betz of Portland and Jill Gilbert (husband Jeremy) of Uniondale, His ex wife and caregiver Mary Betz ,four sisters Ann Lugar (husband Jim) of Portland, Kathy Steen of Portland Jean Ault (husband Melvin) of Pennville and Diane Lake (husband Wayne) of Portland,  Thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 24th at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials can be made to the Bryant Community Center.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman
