Betty L. Missicano, age 94, of Portland passed away Wednesday morning February 25, 2026 in Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Winchester.  She was born in Roanoke, Indiana on May 26, 1931 the daughter of James and Mary Myrtle (Farris) Nelson.  She was married in 1980 to Joe Missicano and he passed away in 2000.  Betty had retired from CTS in Berne and had worked for Jay Garment.  Betty enjoyed going to the lakes, traveling and doing word search games.

Surviving is a daughter Susan Armstrong (husband Robert) of Portland, three sisters Florence Mosier, Roberta Rhodes and Della Brown.  Three grandchildren Michael Armstrong (wife Lindsey), Brooke Aker and Kindra Webster (husband Chris) , Great grandchildren Hannah Armstrong, Alexis Halterman (husband Ryan) and Ellie Webster, Great Great granddaughter Emerson Halterman.  She was preceded in death by a son Donald Cramer and sister Freda Spade.

Funeral services will be Monday March 2nd at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Chris Nelson presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society or Matt Aker Scholarship Fund.
