Berneice L. Franks' Obituary
Berneice L. Franks age 83, of Portland passed away Friday August 28, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Portland on November 24, 1936 the daughter of William and Nellie (Carl) Scott. She was married in 1955 to Francis E. Franks and he passed away in 2005. Berniece was a homemaker and a member of Evangelical Methodist Church, Portland Eagles and American Legion Aux.
Surviving are five sons Richard Franks (wife Michelle) of Portland, John Franks (wife Branda) of Portland, Dave Franks (wife Nancy) of Portland, Darrel Derringer of Portland and Mike Franks (wife Janis) of Evansville, one sister Alberta Bowler of Redkey, Sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by six brothers Johnny Scott, Tom Scott , Danny Scott, Robert Scott, Frank Scott and Andrew Scott, three sisters Sarah Aslinger, Agnes Welch and Mary Jane Scott
Graveside services will be Wednesday September 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Liber Cemetery with Pastor Steve Arnold presiding. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
