Barbara Bailey age 84, formerly of Portland passed away peacefully on Friday July 2, 2021 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Barbara was born on September 1, 1936 in Indianapolis the daughter of William and Josephine (Tennery) Lotz. She was married on March 29, 1954, to the love of her life, Robert Bailey and he passed away on June 11, 2008.

Barbara was an avid card player, enjoyed spending time at the lake with family, and dancing with Robert. She previously owned The Village Trading Post (McCord's) 5 and Dime Stores in Portland, In., Fort Recovery Ohio and Coldwater, Ohio before becoming a department manager at Walmart in Portland.

She was preceded in death by son Alan E. Bailey and grandson Jeffrey S. Bailey. She is survived by daughter in law Brenda Bailey, son Kim E. Bailey (wife Kristi), beloved grandchildren Michael Bailey (wife Lori), Sara Nibarger (husband Josh), Andrew Bailey (wife McKenzie), Leah Bailey Ross, Adrienne Strange (husband Evan) and Kaitlyn Bailey, sister in law Joan Zigler, daughter in law Cindy Bailey, as well as many beloved great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday July 10, 2021 in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, 221 North Meridian, Portland, Indiana 47371 followed by funeral services at 3:00 PM. With Pastor Bruce Phillips presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Emmanuel Hospice, 401 Hall St. SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
