Arlean A. (Nibarger) Blumenhorst, age 87, of Portland passed away on Sunday April 19, 2026 at her residence.  She was born in Jay County on January 4, 1939 the daughter of Jeptha and Grace (Thomas) Thomas.  She was married on August 16, 1955 to Frederick Nibarger and he passed away on July 24, 2000. She later married Robert Blumenhorst on November 18, 2008 and he passed away on August 21, 2021.  Arlean had worked at Jay Garment for several years and later as a truck driver.  She attended th of the River of Life Church and Family Worship Center.

Surviving is three daughters Freda Kay Rohrer (husband Gary) of Portland, Fay Karen Bird (husband Ray) of Portland and Barbara Ann Steed of Portland, one sister Darlene Milholland (husband Don) of Bluffton, Eight grandchildren and Fifteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sons Frederick K. Nibarger Jr. and Forest K. Nibarger and two great grandsons Glen Prox III and Jase Prox.

Funeral services will be Thursday April 23rd at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Willis presiding.  Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville.  Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials can be made to Cattails.
