Amanda E. Friend age 88, 807 West Arch Street Portland passed away Monday morning at her residence. She was born in Portland May 31, 1928 the daughter of Lew and Flora (Harford) Rines. She was married to Alden Copenhaver and he passed away in 1986, she later married Edwin Friend and he passed away in 2006. She was a homemaker and had worked at Jay Garment. She was a member of Fairview Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son Mike Copenhaver (wife Karen) of Blanchester, Ohio and one daughter Cheryl Martyne (husband Dave) of Portland, Four grandchildren, Seven great and One great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Perry presiding. Burial will follow in the Little Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Humane Society.
