Alice King, age 91, North Manchester, IN and former Portland resident passed away on Thursday June 18, 2026 in Parkview Hospital in Warsaw.  She was born on September 2, 1934 in Fryburg, Ohio, the daughter of    Karl and Frieda (Lunz) Baeumel.  She was married on June 7, 1953 to Jay H. King and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2016.  Alice was a secretary for the First Presbyterian Church in Portland where she also sang in the choir.  She was a 1952 Wapakoneta High School graduate.  Alice was a devoted wife to a firefighter and enjoyed working in her flower beds and spending time with family.

Surviving are two sons Daniel King (wife Carol) of Warsaw, Indiana and Kevin King (wife Lori) of Fishers, Indiana, one daughter Janet Jackson (husband Mark) of Piqua, Ohio, three grandchildren Nicholas King, Eric King and Ellie (Jackson) Logan and two great grandchildren Lorenzo King and Amrielle Logan.

Private family services will be held with burial in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.  The family will receive guests on Friday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM in the First Presbyterian Church in Portland.  In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Portland Foundation in memory of Jay and Alice King.
